Last week Tyga came through with the third installment of his “Well Done” mixtape series and now were taking this YMCMB backed project under review for our Monday Mixer segment. I’ve always been a fan of Tyga’s flow but maybe just not a fan of Tyga as a whole. I enjoy his unique rhyme scheme and if you’ve read my other mixtape reviews you would know that I enjoy artists that don’t have that generic rapper sound so that’s always a plus. I have to say I was very disappointed in “Well Done 3″. The first thing that I hated about it was that most of the beats sounded like every single one of Tyga’s beats usually do, some kind of loop from a bell kit (xylophone-like instrument) and then heavy bass, claps ,and hi-hats. I also noticed that the rappers who were featured on the tape noticeably adjusted to Tyga’s flow and kind of mocked it in a way by inheriting it. I gave Tyga’s “Well Done 3″ a 3.5/5 because I know that he has more creativity then what he put on the tape but I liked the features and his style of flow and rhyme scheme that I’ve grown accustomed too.
