Mac Miller to Star in New MTV Reality Show

Mac Miller was the first big name artist to be featured on The-Re-Up.com’s interview series and now he’s blown up enough to secure his own reality TV show on MTV airing in early 2013. Check out his input on it below!

Mac Miller:

“Yes, I have a show on MTV2,” says Miller. “It’s very cool. Being an independent artist, I think it’s important to find different ways to bring attention to what you are doing. With Watching Movies coming out, I just want to do whatever I can to make sure everybody hears that.”

The show will start off as a six-part series in the first quarter of 2013. If it does well, there is an option to transition into full seasons.

“The show is going to be cool, it’s a little look into my life … well, all the stuff you can show on TV,” he says. “I have been living in my studio for months working on my album, so the show kind of forced me to get out of that room and go do something entertaining.”

Sunday Mixer: Mac Miller (Larry Lovestein & The Velvet Revival) – You

Larry Lovestein aka Mac Miller came through with a new jazz inspired mixtape a little while ago that’s definitely something that should not be slept on. Mac Miller successfully dropped an EP without telling anyone about his project, He came through with an entire jazz compilation that he produced and sang on himself. Mac showed his loyal fan base that he is not just simply a rapper but also a true musician who has an ear for different styles of music. If your looking for a chill, meaningful mixtape filled with lots of emotion then “You” by Mac Miller’s Jazz persona Larry Lovestein. It’s hard to pass up the fact that Mac successfully put his feelings on to soulful tracks produced by none other than himself. I also enjoyed the fact that the tape had a theme that persisted throughout the project. I think that the only problem with the “You” tape was the lack of Mac Miller easing into the Jazz transition and I believe that a few small features might of helped the transition go a little bit smoother. I decided to give Mac Miller a 4.5/5 for his breakthrough Jazz tape  Larry Lovestein & The Velvet Revival)  ”You”.
